Earn FAQ

Are there any fees to use Earn?

Protocol Fee: 10% reserve factor applied to all borrow interest payments.
Which means Borrowers pay full interest rate, lenders receive 90%, protocol treasury gets 10%

What are the risks of using Earn?

Like all DeFi platforms, lending and borrowing on-chain has risks. The primary risks are:

  • Smart Contract Risk: The potential for a bug or vulnerability in the code that could be exploited.
  • Market Risk: The value of your deposited or borrowed assets could change dramatically due to market volatility. This is especially important for borrowers, as a drop in your collateral's value could lead to liquidation.

Please use this product carefully and never deposit more than you are willing to lose.

Can I deposit and withdraw funds whenever I want?

Depositing: There are no limits on how much you can deposit.

Withdrawing: To ensure Jupiter Lend remains stable and healthy for everyone, there are dynamic limits on how much can be withdrawn at any single moment. These limits grow constantly, allowing for smooth and predictable withdrawals while protecting the system from sudden, large outflows.

To check the withdrawable amount, go to Earn Statistics, you should see how much is currently withdrawable.

How and where does my yield appear? Does it auto-compound or need to be claimed manually?

Your earnings are automatically compounded into your deposit, you don’t need to claim them manually.
When you supply assets to Earn, the protocol continuously adds your interest back into your position. This means your total value grows over time, but the number of jlTokens you hold stays the same.

So even if your balance looks unchanged, your jlTokens are becoming more valuable as they accumulate yield in the background.

Why did I receive fewer jlTokens than I deposited? Why is it not 1:1?

This is normal and expected. When you deposit, you receive jlTokens that represent your share of the Earn pool, they are not pegged 1:1 to the asset you deposited.
Over time, the value of each jlToken increases as yield compounds.

So you start with fewer jlTokens than the tokens you deposited, but each jlToken becomes worth more, giving you a higher total value later.
