Step 1: Opening a vault
To create a position on Borrow, you first need to choose a vault.
Use the vault explorer to filter by tags or search by collateral or debt asset, then open the vault you want to use.
Once you find your desired vault, Click "Create Position" to open the vault.
Step 2: Make a deposit
After clicking Create Position, you’ll be taken to the vault page and the Deposit card will automatically open to let you start adding collateral.
- First, connect your wallet if it isn’t already connected.
- Enter the amount of collateral you want to deposit.
- Click "Deposit" and approve the transaction in your wallet
Once the deposit is done, the vault screen displays the vault parameters and assets. You'll also see the projected health of your position as well as an estimated liquidation price based on the collateral asset.
You can proceed to the next step by clicking on “Borrow”.
Step 3: Complete your borrow
After clicking “Borrow”, the Borrow card opens.
On this card, a Health status bar shows the LTV (Loan-to-Value), which represents the ratio between your borrowed amount and the value of your collateral. The higher it is, the higher the liquidation risk.
- Once the borrow amount is selected, click “Borrow” and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
After the borrow transaction is confirmed, your borrowed funds are sent directly to your wallet. You’re then returned to the vault page, where you can review your full position details.
⚠️ Position NFT
When you create a Borrow position, the protocol automatically mints a Position NFT to your wallet.
This NFT represents ownership of your vault, it’s what links your wallet to that specific position on-chain.
- The NFT is created automatically when you open a vault.
- A small amount of SOL rent is paid to store it on Solana (this is normal and required for all NFTs).
- Do not delete or transfer this NFT.
If you remove it from your wallet, you’ll lose access to your Borrow position through the interface, as the app uses this NFT to identify your position.
You can view this NFT in your wallet under your “Collectibles” tab, it will usually display the vault type or ID.
